It is such an exciting journey with my first two modules of the ADL master program. I struggled with keeping up with assignments and understanding the core of the course at the beginning. But the more I dug into Dr. H’s instructions, the more the picture of the whole course became more evident. The course is based on three essential components; growth mindset, COVA approach, and ePorfolio. I noticed that my way of teaching has changed- I started to give more freedom of choice to my students. I work at a Special Education self-contained unit at an Elementary school. We used to have a strict schedule for the day, but now it is more flexible and depends on students’ desires. So one day we can start with Science and the next day it can be Reading. It makes a difference when you give students a choice and make them feel responsible for their success.
I introduced the ePortfolio idea as a life longer evidence of their study work, and they got very excited about this approach.
I want to reshape my ePortfolio and make it a good source of information and possible examples for implementing my future innovative project - blended learning models. This can be helpful for my teammates and me when we will launch my innovative project.
